We had an excellent Seattle Chapter meeting on June 12 on the Microsoft campus in Redmond. Special thanks to all our presenters!

Grant Slemp and Karen Yim from Nanostring presented their member showcase. We learned how Nanostring uses NAV for their complex manufacturing process with 300k items and multi-level production BOMs. Grant and Karen discussed their favorite process improvements, including decreasing the run time on their inventory valuation report, utilizing RapidStart for editing or creating many records at once and archiving/deleting change log entries.

Jim Augenstein from Lanham Associates talked about the road map from NAV to BC from an ISV's perspective. We covered a wide variety of topics including the different versions of extensions, how some ISV extensions can be dependent upon one another, automated testing, and the various steps needed to get AppSource Certification.

Jared Hall (Senior Program Manager at Microsoft) showed us the road map ahead for NAV to BC, including hands on demos of IOT device integration, two-way excel integration and a sneak peek at some of the features coming in the upcoming October release.

Most informative was Jared's explanation of the interoperability of the 3 clouds of Azure, Dynamics 365 (Hosted BC) and O365 and the AI tools that Microsoft is developing that will allow us to introduce AI into our business apps and processes.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next chapter meeting in August!
