Hi, we have started using transfers recently with a new warehouse and Purchasers have having issues with the Timeline of the items.
When they run MRP, they have transfer suggestions to transfer from warehouse to factory, which makes sense.

Then in the timeline, what happens is, if "Include planning suggestions" is unchecked, the outbound part of the transfers are taken into account, but not the inbound part. If "Include planning suggestions" is checked, then it works fine.

Is this normal? I'm thinking or trying to alter the code to fix this and make the whole transfer a suggestion.
The transfert itself should either be all Projected inventory or a Suggestion, not a projection outbound and a suggestion inbound.

I do not believe this is an issue, at least I'm not getting those results when I conduct this scenario in a 2018 version.

I ran a scenario below and I do see for the same location code where I see a supply and a demand line where it adds inventory via a supply, and reduced inventory via a demand without the show include planning suggestions.  This was two Transfers Orders, different days, with the opposite location codes in the header.

Running MRP/MPS, you shouldn't be getting suggestions both ways due to the sku cards only having one setting.  But I believe the issue you may be having is perhaps you have cancel/new or change suggestions to existing transfer orders perhaps not showing up without the include planning suggestions…since you are running planning and haven't actioned the suggestions from planning.

Let me know your thoughts again...are you able to see in the timeline both a Supply/Demand Line for the source transfer or just the one side on the Demand and NOT the supply still?

    Warm Regards.

My problem looked like your second screenshot. The planned transfer is decreasing projected inventory (unless yours was a real transfer document? In which case this bug may have been fixed in 2018)

I fixed the problem by adding some logic to the data generation.
I am skipping all Transfers from being added if the Location filter is empty.
That way, the totals for projected inventory and suggested inventory are good (but we don't see transfers, which makes sense since we are looking at the whole company).

Here is what I had (30 is a PO suggestion and 38 a Transfer suggestion, there is also an actual PO of 8 units for a total projected inventory of 20) :

The total projected inventory for the whole company shows negative, but in fact it is 20, because the transfer suggestion shouldn't count.

    Hi Samuel,

I believe I have caught your error, and it appears it still exists in 2018 version against the location that is shipping out inventory.  The screen shots I had were actual transfers orders, but I had planning lines also that showed a supply/demand suggestion.  However, I just looked at it again and saw the requisition line there.  In my opinion, it shouldn't be there since it's a planning suggestion, it should be tied to the other Boolean that is not checked.

Seems like you might have tackled this with your adjustment, but I believe I can confirm this still exists after a 2nd pass at it again, this image proves it for you.

    Warm Regards.
