Zebra printers printing fedEx labels multiple printers

Hi, i have 4 different packing stations each with their own zebra printer.  When 2 or more are printing at the same time occasionally we will have a label from one station print to another station rather then all on the same printer. I recall at one time hearing something about printer naming in setup. another issue we see is the packing lists, which all print to one printer will also print random rather than a complete shipment at a time. We have to sort through the pages to make sure each shipment has the correct packing lists.

if anyone has had experience or know a fix this would be greatly appreciated.

We had the same issue.  It was because different user's with the same Packing Station assigned in User Setup were printing to different printers at the same time.

To resolve this, I created one packing station for each user/packer (no two users have the same pack station assigned to them).

    Good morning Mike,

Lewis is correct but the biggest thing you have to do on each packing station is to either have a separate directory for each label buffer file or use %1 in the label file name and E-Ship will add the userID to the file name so you will not share the same files. I have found a separate directory works best when there are many people printing labels.

    I hope this helps!

If they are pointing to the same directory for the label file buffer make sure you add %1%2 to the File Name.

Ours are setup as "Some Directory\shipping\label\%1%2buffer.txt"  Make sure you add %1%2 to all of the Buffer Files (Both Packing Station and Carrier Packing Station)

The %1%2 adds the Session Info to the File name which stops this error from happening.
