    Thank you!

There are many great NAV/BC partners and many are NAVUG members.  You can try searching here:  https://www.navug.com/network/findacompany

Hey Jen,  This is a bit of a loaded question as it sounds as you may not have had a great experience. What type of customization's are you looking to do?  There are great partners in the market that Lewis listed, but maybe research consultants as well.  At times these are a more 1:1 type of partnership.  We have used both with good results, but in most cases it truly depends of your expectations, timeline and how well your company can convey your desired goals.

    Hi Jen,

If you are looking for reasonably simple customizations (some custom fields, a new set of pages and tables to store custom data, or some modifications to reports, new Jet reports etc...) we are all about equally good.

If you are looking for integration with 3rd party applications - then I'd suggest talking to the application vendor and see if they have worked with a partner before.  Finding someone with a bit of experience with either the specific application or applications of that type would be beneficial.

If you are looking to make some deep modifications in a particular module, or associated with the requirements of an industry or vertical,  I'd probably suggest finding partners who have strong experience in the area you want customized and/or in your industry.

    Hope that helps,

    -Rob

    Hello Jen
I have being working on both sides: partners and end users. In my personal experience there are not "Bad partners" neither "complicated customers", all is about communication and relationship. I heard this topic many times where end user blame a partner or an individual consultant or any other partner employee. Again is all about communication in my opinion. Good specs and clear Q & A all the time because it helps to understand Customer needs and save time and money.
I suggest to have a Leader a PM or a designated person inside the company to direct communicate with the Partner when changes or projects arise, this person will find the right channels in the company to redirect questions and or concerns.
Hope this is clear for anybody on this ERP business loop.
    Regards

    Hello Jen,

I can address your question from a software vendor's point of view.  Smart Software works as an extension of our customers' ERP systems of choice, and we needed a partner to help us establish our automated integration with NAV and Business Central.  This pulls daily transactional data from and returns forecasts and replenishment policy drivers (Min, Max,Safety, order quantity) directly to tables in NAV / BVC.  We talked with a number of partners, chose ArcherPoint and have never looked back.  This is not to say anything negative about other partners, but our experience with ArcherPoint has been exceptionally positive.  Their technical expertise is second to none, and I have gotten to know their team in a deeper way, from account management to program management to development.

mibuso.com is a great resource for asking specific questions about such subjects as well, in case you aren't familiar with it. Good luck!
