Engineering Change Order (ECO) Platform Recommendations

    Hi All,

We are currently using Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 and we are looking for recommendation on an Engineering Change Order (ECO) software package or add-on that works with both NAV 2016 and Product Data Management (PDM).

What we are looking for in the ECO software or add-on something that works directly with NAV 2016 but has the ability to interact with PDM which is a data storing platform that work with SolidWorks  .

    Thanks,
    Jorge Laboy

We use e-Con for ECO and AgniLink for integration between Solid Works to NAV 2017. This will work with NAV 2016. We don't require PDM at present, but this could become a requirement and e-Con can display/use and NAV table

    Chris,

We are looking at AgniLink for integration between Solid Works to NAV.  What is your opinion of AGNILink?

I think AgniLink from Elmo will do what you would expect.

I found Elmo both helpful and frustrating at the same time. Like all 3rd party products, you must understand what you are purchasing. I opted for pre-paid services so that I could quantify costs for my CAPEX but this was not as easy as I anticipated (and I am a CPA)

At the end of the day, I have an integration between SolidWorks and NAV that worked as I expected. That is, BOMs were created and component items in SW and NAV are in Sync

I did get my SolidWorks partner to write a program that would create a BOM report from PDM that I could use to syn with NAV to ensure that all data was a match. (This may have me a business specific requirement based on my complex BOM structure). Nothing in the integration world is as simple as we would like it to be. If I had not done this, the time required to do the integration would have been a significant challenge.

A final comment - I was happy with the Solid Works and AgniLink integration and I am confident that you could achieve the same result.

    Jorge,

There is an ECM product by Cost Control for Engineering Change.  Its primary function is to track and update the related Production Data for Items.  It also has an approval function if required.  Below is a link to their product page.
