PIM for NAV 16 and compatible with BC

  • 1.  PIM for NAV 16 and compatible with BC

    Posted 23 days ago
    Hi there--

I have a client who's interested in PIM, and we dont have a lot of our clients running PIM. I am curious who's running 3rd party PIM solutions, what they are, any feedback you have on the solutions, and the compatibility with both their current version NAV 2016, as well as an anticipated upgrade to BC (likely v16+).

    Thanks much in advance!

    Joshua,

There are a lot of variations of PIM products available. What kind of product are you looking to manage within a PIM? Do you need any integration to any marketplaces? If you are looking at a future upgrade to Dynamics 365 Business Central v16 are you going with the SaaS model? I have implemented and used several different PIM products for older versions of NAV, and also BC in the cloud. The PIM products out there vary so widely and the cost structure on some of them can really get expensive with an upfront cost from $5k to over $30k, then the monthly subscriptions can be the same as a high-end car payment.
Don't get frustrated there are some much less complicated and very economical PIM products available.

I would need to ask you another 20-30 questions in order to suggest a couple of possible Vendors you should speak with.
Email or call me - No cost!
I will share all I know about my experiences with PIM pre/post implementation, total cost, and some of the hidden issues that you need to think about.

    I hope this helped.

    Joshua,

We are currently using Perfion as our PIM solution.  It does have NAV integration via a factbox but we are not using it.  It has been an OK solution for us.  If it had to do it over again though I would find an alternative as our experiences with the Perfion support team and professional services was lackluster at best.
