Approvals with Workflow User Group

I am attempting to set up a few different sales order approval workflows in dynamics NAV 2016. My hope was to use the instructions found in this NAVUG blog post so that a workflow user group could be utilized and only one member of the user group would need to approve before the document released.

I have found that this works flawlessly if the person sending the approval request is not a member of the workflow user group.

However, if the person sending the approval request is a member of the workflow user group then the approval request is automatically approved but the sales order remains in the pending approval status and the only way to release the order is for a another member of the workflow user group to also approve.

If the person reviewing the sales order has to cancel the approval request, reopen the sales order, and make an edit then they will in turn not be able to release the sales order without the help of another member of the workflow user group.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to work around this?

    Hello Trey,

The only thing that I can think of is that you have to separate the requestors and the approvers into different groups. I can see where the logic gets confused when a member of the group is the requesting party.
