Export Production BOMs?

  • 1.  Export Production BOMs?

I am trying to figure out order quantities for raw materials (that go into multiple products). Is there an easy way to pull the BOMs involved into a spreadsheet so I can take a look at quantities required for each product? I've tried using a "Quantity Explosion of BOM" report but it will only output as a .pdf and seems to be pulling all the subassembly BOMs through as well.

What version of NAV?  You should be able to print that report to Excel:

You can also try using RapidStart to export the Production BOM Line Table (99000772) to Excel.

Ah yes you are right Lewis! I didn't realize there were drop down options on the print button.

    Thank you!

    Jonathan,

Do you use the Planning or Requisition Worksheet?  The purpose of these worksheets is to calculate the quantity required for Items within the system.  If an Item falls below an order point or has a grouped order policy, the system will suggest a purchase order.

I would recommend a forum search on MRP, as I think there are probably some good tips to get you started.  The more calculations you can let the system do the more we take human error out of the equation.

    Hi Ben,
Our system was initially set up to use the MRP however some of our newer items do not have enough of a history to establish ordering policies yet. I will take your advice and dig deeper into the MRP and utilizing it for this process.

    Thank you,
