    Has anyone on the group added photos to the item cards?
    I would like to see how I can upload a batch of photos to my items and rename them to item number. Is this possible. I would like to ensure that my photo file name match the item number. Can I do this in a mass upload or will I have to do this one item at a time.

    I have only done them one by one, but I don't see any reason you couldn't do more than one and save them in a folder on your computer, as you have to choose which file to import the file to the item card.

    We do upload pictures to the Item card.

    We are using Navision2009 Classic version

    On our item Item - there is a "Files" that we click on and then we import the picture.

    Item Card File

    Once we click on the files - this will open up a window wherein we can upload the picture.

    We save the picture first in a server and then upload it to the item card in Navision.

    Hope this help you out.

    Hello,

    Yes, I did add individual Item images one by one to the item card.

    But when I tried to do the mass upload by rapid start, the field Picture on the Item card does not show up.

    Did anyone do the mass upload of the Item images into NAV using rapid start?

    Thanks.

    I've not seen a mass upload to the NAV picture field. I have seen it done to links or using a document management integrated product.

    Hi Stephen,

    We are using NAV17 and our partner wrote a "report" for us that looks at a folder on our shared server drive then matches the item number in NAV to a file name in the folder with .JPG at the end of it, then imports that file into the item card.  As long as the file names are the same, the number it can import at the same time is limitless.  I would suggest getting your partner to do the same for you.

    Many thanks.

    Here is some code that may be able to help. You could wrap this in an XML port feeding it your Item Number and full path of image.
    You will need to alter this for your specific functionality.

        PROCEDURE ChangePic@1000000018(ItemNo@1000000000 : Code[20];ImageName@1000000001 : Text[30]);
        VAR
          FullImagePath@1000000002 : Text[50];
        BEGIN
          IF Item.GET(ItemNo) THEN BEGIN
            FullImagePath := '\\servername\foldername\itemno.jpg';
            Item.Picture.IMPORT(FullImagePath);
            Item.MODIFY;
          END;
        END;

    I have done batch import of images in NAV 2015.  Attached is the instruction sheet.  Set up table, set up report, put images in specific location on NAV services tier server.

    If you have any questions, let me know!
