Does NAV 2017 out of the box have Pallet ID labeling option? We want to implement using pallet IDs, but seems like it falls under a WMS system?

No, it does not have pallet ability.

    Hello Jamie,

Pallet ID's are also referred to as Pallet License Plates.  Generally it is a label attached with a bar code serial number attached to the pallet.

This functionality could be included in an add-on or third party WMS, but most NAV end users get pallet license plating by buying an add-on shipping and logistics solution.
If you need a WMS, you could look there, but I would advise you to look for a shipping and logistics add-on instead.  You don't want to implement a WMS just for a pallet license plate need.

    I hope this helps,

There is no pallet record anywhere in standard NAV. The lowest logical storage is the Bin inside one of the various degrees of warehousing. There are a number of ISV solutions, including ours, that can add a pallet, aka license plate record, into your NAV environment. I'm happy to dive deeper into this if you like or if you want to continue the more public conversation, please expand your requirements a bit.

I have  used Lot Numbers for a NAV version that did not have full warehousing manufacturing.  it worked great but was as automated as it could be.   (we did not use actual barcodes, and assigned each log manually).
