GL Detail Reporting with Dimension Detail

Is there a way to run/export to excel GL detail reports with dimension details all on one line from within NAV.  Currently the dimension details are only visible if you highlight a line and click on Dimensions in the ribbon.  For reporting and reconciling I need this information both visible on my screen with the other details and in an export.

Are these Global Dimensions 1 & 2? If Yes, these can be added as columns to the page and exported to Excel.

Actually , you can add any dimensions, whether Global or Not, to the General Ledger Entries List (Source Table G/L Entry (17)---- Page: General Ledger entries (20) to export to Excel for analysis.  Again they do not need to be on just Global Dimensions. At least from NAV2013R2 to 2018.

    No, they are additional dimensions.

As Michael mentioned above, you can go to the Development Client and add the "Shortcut Dimensions" to the page. You can export them to Excel. You don't need the developers license to do that, just access to the Development Client.

    Good Luck!

    Hi Suzanne

Which version of NAV are you using?  I believe the Dimension Set/Dimension Set Entry were introduced from NAV 2013.

If you do use Jet Report, it is simply a matter expanding the the Dimension Set ID (from Dimension Set Entry table) from the General Ledger Entries listing to reveal the additional dimensions.  As other users pointed out, Global Dimensions are already embedded on General Ledger Entries table.

If you don't use Jet Report, then would create a customized report within NAV can achieve the same/ or other reporting methods.

If you have Jet Reports it can do this for you. You might also be able to do this with the free version, Jet Basics.
