It's an interesting question. I guess you could add another table to record "lost sales", have those that manage orders record "lost sales" in this new table when the event takes place. I suppose you could add logic to the ondelete trigger to pass information in a more automated way when a sales order line is deleted. If an order quantity decreases, that could also be a lost sale?
