    Hi Folks,
    New Year Greetings!

I am getting below error while running "Explode BOM" function from the Sales Invoice Line. This invoice is generated from the Job itself and the item which used in the line is assembly item. The "Explode BOM" function is working fine for the direct invoices which used same item. The issue get only for the invoices from job.

Looking forward to get your valuable inputs to resolve this issue.

When a Sales Line is created from a Job using the Create Sales Invoice process, the line cannot be altered.  This is why you are getting this message.  You would need to Explode the Assembly on the Job then create the multi-line invoice.

    Hi Ben Baxter,

    Thanks for your reply.

How this can do "Explode BOM" from job / job journal? I couldn't to find any option to run this function.

Appreciate all of your early responses and help.

    Ranjith,

I do not think there is an Explode BOM function on the Job Planning Lines or the Job Journal.  You would need to write an Extension.  The process would be fairly straight forward by reducing the Quantity need of the Assembly Item and doing the math to add the additional Planning Lines and related Quantities.  You would want to have logic around the Replenishment System of the Item being Exploded to ensure it is only Assembly.

I would suggest doing this on the Planning Lines, not the Job Journal, to maintain the Usage link.
