The PO Header gets wiped out when the approval is canceled/rejected

  • 1.  The PO Header gets wiped out when the approval is canceled/rejected

    Posted Feb 06, 2020 11:31 AM
In NAV 2017 - has anyone ever heard of a PO header getting wiped out, going through the approval process, when it is rejected or the process is canceled?
The User cancelled the approval process and all the fields in the header went blank, however, the lines stayed populated.  This has happened more that once by different users, locations and companies.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Xan,

We've been successfully using the PO approval workflow for the past 2 years and haven't seen that problem on approval reject or cancel.

We're using Cumulative Update 5 of NAV 2017 (version 10.0.16177.0).

We are also using approvals in NAV 2017 and have never had this issue. Check your PO approval workflow  "An approval request is rejected" and "An approval request for a purchase document is canceled" event responses. Check if "Discard the new values." is selected. It's doubtful, but that could be causing the issue. Otherwise, I'd look for some modification on the reopen trigger of the purchase header.

Hi Morgan,  thanks so much for the tip.  I suspected it might be in one of the workflows, just wanted to hear someone else's opinion before I go deep diving.  The NAV team here now, didn't do any of the set up, so we're not quite sure of it.
    Thanks again.
