In-house payroll with NAV

  • 1.  In-house payroll with NAV

    Hi all,

I'm curious to know if any of you have experience using Vision Payroll (previously Serenic HCM) with NAV?  Have your experience been positive or negative?

Also, could anybody recommend any similar stand-alone payroll software packages that works well with NAV and would allow in-house payroll processing for companies operating in both Canada and the USA?

We're looking at moving to a different payroll system, and any first-hand accounts or tips from users would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Serenic used to be the only in NAV payroll solution.  There have been at least two other players enter the market.  We are currently implementing "NAV Payroll" (http://www.navpayroll.com/) for one of our clients, and it has been going well.

With any large add-on solution, it is strongly recommended to work with your partner as they may have their own suggestion and preferred solution.

I also recommend NAV Payroll and they can help you with other element or related items: ACA compliance with some of their partners.
Not sure about GreenShares, but I think there target will be for Dynamics 365 Business Central.  I believe that NAV Payroll is ready to go.

Use Serenic at a former client and it is a fairly power product.  It can do just about what ever you need it to do.  With that being said, it does require a good deal of setup and can be difficult understanding the setup if you are doing unique calculations with your payroll.  Many of the calculations must be set up manually.

Greenshades is a companion product with Serenic which mainly handles the payroll tax reporting and W-2 processing.  I don't think they have payroll processing per se, just reporting after the payroll is processed.
