We are using web services to connect B.C. to an external system.  BC and external system will be passing inventory movement changes to one another.

Is there a list of the Business Central tables & pages that are writeable anywhere?

I do not know of a easily obtainable list.    My team generated one that we will reference from time to time.  Let me see if i can share it with you.

This has been a sore spot of mine since the change to BC and the loss of the Object Designer.   (if you did not work in the past NAV versions, you missed out.. but that is not the point).    The best recommendation i have for you is to pull inventory tables from the Config Package functionality.  Either create a new package or use the standard one that MS provides.   If you create a new line in a config package and drill into the table field, the complete list of tables for the entire environment is shown here.
Once the table is listed in the package, if you select that line, chose TABLE menu from the line menu bar and then select "Fields"  - a new page will open with all the fields included in that table.     This is the most exposure I have been able to get to that is similar to the beloved Object Designer.

On another note; Have you verified that the integration tool you are using is actually getting to tables or is it only able to write to the pages?   There is sometimes a very big difference between the page and the table.  The table contains EVERY data field, whereas the Page that displays said table may not have all fields.    I was recently informed that all integration tools can only link to pages...   this confused me and i have not verified this yet (plus, this tech part of integrating and data mapping is not my expertise.)

and one last thing to consider....   when on a page anywhere in BC, you should be able to CTRL+ALT+1 and "zoom" will pop up on the right side of the screen.  If you are a NAV old timer, ZOOM was our way of reviewing EVERY field on the table for whatever page is selected.   Zoom is great in that it is not only listing all the fields, but also the data in each field related to what record you are on.

Hoped i helped and didnt just ramble about things you already know or dont want to know.

Thank you Jamie.   This is helpful.  If you are able to share the list that would be appreciated.

Attached is the list from my team.  I believe this was actually obtained through the web services tools in BC.   I am waiting to hear back about how he got it.  he mentioned to me that it may be outdated.

You could try looking at the table information and then using the PAGE>Open in excel function to save.

Thanks Phil.  This page does provide a list of table names & number, sizes, etc. however it does not provide data on whether the table can be written to from a third party system.
