When Purchase Orders are archived, we lose any documents that were attached to the Purchase Order. Is this by design or are we not doing something right.

I know that the database would increase in size by leaving attachments connected to the Purchase Order. But they would stay with the Purchase Order, we wouldn't have to search for documents after the Purchase Order has been archived.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure when PO or SO are automatically archived. I was told at one time they are archived when created and when there is a transaction like posting. But I don't think that's always the case.  The best way to know something is archived is to manually archive. I know that's not always the best.
When someone is deleting a PO I always tell them to add a note and archive before deleting.

Our Archived PO's & SO's do have links attached as well as any notes.

If you view the last Posted Invoice for the PO it should have all the linked documents that were attached to the PO at the time it was posted.
