So my parent company and I are trying to merge domains. Currently the dynamics NAV server is still running on the Jack black domain and my parent company has set up a one-way trust with the Jack Black domain trusting the parent company's domain.

When I try to change the windows username on my user card to my parent company's credentials I get the following error.

Error Message received when trying to change windows username
    Does anyone have any insights?

    Trey -

I've had to do this several times, and it is possible with Powershell.

Example (be sure to change folder pathing and instance names for your version and environment:
    Import-Module "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\100\Service\NavAdminTool.ps1"
    Set-NAVServerUser -ServerInstance DynamicsNAV100 -UserName OLDDOMAIN\OldUserName -NewUserName NEWDOMAIN\NewUsername
