I have been looking high and low for an example of connecting SSRS to a Webservice as a datasource. We are in the process of upgrading our Dynamics NAV from on-premise 2013r2 to Business Central in the cloud. We currently have a number of reports that were created in report builder (SSRS) using a shared NAV datasource connecting to an on-premise SQL database. Our provider is telling me that since the Web client is in the cloud I will no longer have access to the tables to do direct queries and that I must use the web services that are published out of business central. The options are ODATA V4 URL, ODATA URL or SOAP URL. I can't figure out how to connect to any of these as a datasource. I have read that this can be done using XML and a query to parse. I am getting a 401 - unauthorized error because our Report Server only allows for windows authentication or none, and I believe that I need BASIC authentication in order to enter my credentials. Does anyone have an experience in this? if so, can you please provide examples of the connection string and sample query? For starters, I am trying to connect to the Page 31 Items Published web services. Any help would be appreciated. I would really hate to have to rewrite these 60+ reports because I can no longer access the datasource. Also what becomes of my stored procedures?
