    Hi everyone. I wonder if any of you have had problems when working with Job Queue Entries.

    This is the scenario:
    Version: NAV 20313 R2
    Vertical: LINKFresh

    I schedule Adjust Cost to run on the Job Queue Entries as follow:

    As you can see it is supposed to run at 9:00 PM tomorrow and it will actually run on time. The problem is after it runs it add 17 hours to the Earliest Start Date/Time even an I have it setup as No. of Minutes between Runs: 1440.
    Any ideas? I already checked my time zone and it is correct. I also checked the NAS instance

    My observed behavior is that it queues based not on the time started, but the time ended.   [+1440]    If it is fast, it gets a little later each time.   If it is a lengthy process, it quickly moves to the middle of the day.    It does not behave in the traditional 'mainframe' model.    [set it for 10 PM, and it always starts at 10 PM]

    I had to customize to get it to work the way I wanted.    [Also added ability to run BOM/EOM/Same Day/Time Next Month - at least 2 of which are really something that should be core.

    Your VAR can do this if you don't have a dev license/developer.

    [I strongly advise that any changes of this nature be tested, re-tested, and re-tested again before deployment...took me a few kicks at the cat to get it working reliably in every scenario without compromising others]

    Joel is correct. The Job Queue has never quite worked like people expected. In this case, the job ends, it sees that it should wait 24 hours until the next time it runs, and adds that amount of time to the time it ended.

    For our daily job queue jobs, we have ours set to "Maximum No. Of Attempts to Run:" = 1, and "No. of Minutes between Runs:" = 0.  The recurrence check boxes will fire it on a daily basis so I don't believe you need to specify the minutes between runs.

    For jobs that I want to run everyday at a single specific time, I enter the desired "Starting Time" and leave the "No. of Minutes" at 0. During Daylight Savings half of the year, I have to adjust my times by 1 hour in order to get them to run when I want them to, but otherwise this works smoothly. (NAV 2016)

    I just looked this up. Looks like this was a known issue fixed in Feb 2019 CU for NAV 2013.

    "A job queue running on NAS calculates the Earliest Start Date/Time field for a job queue entry incorrectly."

    Looks like you might be able to fix your issue by updating those objects.

    Greg's answer matches our experience. I was unable to get adjust costs to run in Job Queue  in NAV2013R2 CU16 .....gave up trying in the face of an imminent upgrade.  After updating to NAV 2018 the issue went away.
