Turned on bins w/o an adjustment bin

We turned bins on back in October of 2019. Instead of putting all inventory into an adjustment bin, a script was written to place product into bins based on inventory posting group.  Since then, we have noticed that there are items, that are rarely used, that were not part of these posting groups.  We now have what is essentially ghost inventory that we cannot access because it is not in any bin, though it shows being in the location.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to correct this?  Right now, we are having to go into the backend tables to delete out the inventory.  Is this the only solution?  Are there other work arounds?

    Lucas,
I would try this in your TEST environment.
Create an Adjustment Bin for the appropriate location.
Fill in the Adjustment Bin Name in the Adjustment Bin Code field on the location card
Then go into Warehouse Inventory Reclass journal and see if anything populates and post Just one of the lines for the adjustments and see what happens. If this works you at least have a way to fix the past and do things correctly moving forward.

The adjustment bin is only used in full directed pick and put away.  When you moved to bins you normally would have removed all inventory, then turned on the bins and then added the inventory back to the bins.  Your partner should be able to assist you getting the items not in bins into bins, likely via code vs a manual process at this point.
