Kit/ Kitting/ Assembly Picking from Sales Order

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there is a way to create a sales order for a kit and have the components print out on a picking sheet to be later processed through pack line scanning. I am attempting to roll this into our regular shipping process as a pick and pack situation. We are using Business Central 14.20.

    Thank you for your help,

    Schrell,

Base Business Central, for Assembly BOM, when you create the Sales Order you enter a single Sales Line for that Item. If I printed a picking instructions only the Kit Item would appear. Now, I can Explode the Assembly BOM on the Sales Lines and then the Assembly Components will appear on the Pick Instructions, but the Assembly Item No. will not. If you want to have the Sales Order show the Assembly Item and have the Assembly BOM explode only on the Pick Instructions, then you could work with your Partner to accomplish this.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Do you have bins enabled?  Are the items setup as assemble to order?
If you do on the location you will need to set the to-assembly  and from-assembly bins.
Then on the assembly setup turn on the Create Movements Automatically.
When the pick is created it will create for the assembly components and not for the finished item.
