Lanham E-Ship $0 lines

We just upgraded to NAV2017 and installed the newest version of Lanham E-Ship. We are receiving the "Value (Price) 0 invalid for P####" when the item is zero dollars. We have a value in the "Zero Value Package Value" field on the Shipping Setup but it sets the field on the header and E-Ship looks at the lines.
According to our partner, "The Value (Price) on the Package Line will be set to the Amount Including Tax from the Sales Line.  This creates a problem if the Item is being sold for $0 such as is often the case for samples or replacement items.  E-ship does not provide a place to specify an "override" in this case and there really isn't a good option without a customization."
So I was wondering if someone has encountered this situation and how did you resolve it?
    Thank you.

    Hey Laura -

When shipping internationally, all line items must have a weight, value (price), and description. If the Value is blank, they need to enter some sort of value ($1) on the package lines to get the package to close.
