Kitting

Has anyone developed functionality similar to the old NAV Kitting? We have items that are currently setup as assemblies that we would like to be able to ship partial (part of assembly), also would like Pack Line Scanning to scan the components, not just the Assembly item. The pricing is all based on the Assembly (Kit) item, and we want Sales Acknowledgment and Invoice to only reflect the Assembly (Kit).

    I have.

We have custom logic for kits. When the kit is added to the order, the components show on the order and can be handled independently.

Lots of logic around handling, pricing, and invoicing that bring up issues. We've been using this logic for a few years.

Feel free to contact me directly and we can discuss our experience and if it applies to your situation.

    Hi Ted, Been a while.

What version of NAV is your functionality in?
What I am looking for is basically a way to invoice for the Kit while packing and shipping the components, does that sound like what you have?
Also last but not least, if you have functionality that works what would be the cost?

Let me know and if it looks like it is a good fit maybe we could setup a GoTo meeting so you could show me what you have.

    Thanks

We are on 2009 so no way to port what we've done to you.

You'll need a custom mod. Thought you just might like to hear what we've done and where we found alligators in the swamp to guide your modification effort.

Basically items are flagged as kits and assembly setup. When the item is added to the order, it is switched to a text type line and the components added as type Item with a custom link to the text line. All the item lines can be picked/shipped independently, but the system requires the kit to be invoiced as one.

On the order and invoice print, when it sees the kit, it prints the text line, but not the item lines.
