Pricing - Price Plus

    Good day!
We are looking to set up prices in the system and want to know if the follow is possible.

    1) A basic list price for all items (we see how to do this with Unit price)
    2) Customer price groups- we also see this table
    3) The big question is how do we set up price plus?  For example, several customers are located at a distance so we add 10 cents/lb for freight to the list price on every shipment, every product.  Is there a way to set this up without setting up a separate price list, and having to update each price list, every time the basic list price changes?
We do not want a separate line item on the invoice showing this 10 cents. It needs to be included in the price on the item line.

Is there a way to do this in NAV? We are running NAV 2017

I think a separate customer price group is the way to go.

Looking to reduce the number of price lists we have to update.
If we have 50 customers with different additions, and we change prices every week, that's a lot of work...

That is a lot of work!  Are you updatng pricing manually?   There are some tools in NAV to make the process easier and if they don't work for you, Rapid Start Services is also a useful tool.

Regardless of approach, if you use prices and discounts you will want to keep NAV's Best Price Calculation in mind. You may have difficulty getting "plus" pricing to work the way you expect it to.

"When you have recorded special prices and line discounts for sales and purchases, Dynamics NAV ensures that your profit on item trade is always optimal by automatically calculating the best price on sales and purchase documents and on job and item journal lines. The best price is the lowest permissible price with the highest permissible line discount on a given date. Dynamics NAV automatically calculates this when it inserts the unit price and the line discount percentage for items on new document and journal lines."

Use this link to see more detail: Microsoft Docs NAV Special Sales Prices and Discounts

There are Food and Beverage ISV solutions that have extended pricing functionality to deal with this and similar situations, there may be other horizontal solutions also available. You may want to consider one of these as an option over customization as they may also include other enhancements that you may find beneficial to your business. If you already have a food related ISV solution, you may want to reach out to your partner with this challenge, you may have a option available that you are not aware of.

As for mass updating, @Lewis Rosenberg is correct, RapidStart is a greatly under utilized tool in NAV.

    Good luck!

    Thanks!
We have currently not set up any pricing in NAV due to the complexity of our current pricing.
We do know how to use rapid start and would do that to update price lists.  We are really just looking for ways to simplify the pricing structure. If we can have one base price and then a module to add additional costs, that would be great.  I'll look into the additional solutions.
