User Licenses and Inactivity - NAV 2016

A couple of generic questions concerning license usage and inactivity. We are looking at ways to maximize our investment in our user licenses. We have considered setting an inactivity (idle client timeout). We don't like the fact that setting is global and not configurable by user. We have looked at the 3rd party solution from DynamicsNAVAddons. My questions are:
    A) Has anyone here used the solution from DynamicsNAVAddons?
    B) Is there a way to see, at a given time, inactivity in minutes per user? I am familiar with Sessions but, no place to see how long users are inactive. This information would be valuable in analyzing the user base to determine what and how many users could be logged off - and after how many minutes

Any other comments on this subject would be useful as well.

    Thanks!

We have multiple NST's (server addresses), each with their own timeout settings.
Users that use NAV infrequently are on a 30 minute idle timer.
Users that use NAV full time (like accounting) have a 4 hour idle timer.
Unfortunately you have to run "Sessions" in each server individually to see the users that are on in NAV.

When we started running short on licenses we looked at building tools to do just what your talking about until I learned about limited users. I think the limited licenses were only $600 per seat plus 16% annual maintenance.
Limited users do have restrictions, but fit my organization nicely.

Neil, there are a few products out there. Be careful which ones to get. Some work with multiple services.
Some with sessions. I may suggest first time tuning the Service to disconnect the users when Idle. Those that complain ask them why didn't they use their computers as license are expensive and people need to get in. I normal set it by 30 min.
Also view this table to obtain some information you may want.

    Table 2000000111 Session Event -

P.s. Last tip to find out if you can use a LIMITED versus a FULL License as those are less expensive.
    Good luck.
