I am just wondering if this is possible and if so how involved would it be?  I would like to create a data capture of Quantities and Lot Nos. externally from NAV, at Whse receipt of purchase orders.  I would capture the qtys received and lot numbers and would then like to take this information and integrate it into NAV to look as if line tracking was complete on the purchase order line.  We can then post the Whse. receipt in NAV. Has anyone done anything like this?  I am looking for information specific to what records etc. need to be created/updated in NAV to integrate properly. I'm basically looking to do what Page 6510 - Item tracking Lines does.

    Suzanne,

There are a few ISV products that do exactly as you describe by utilizing rugged handheld scanners.  I would suggest you look at Insight Works or Lanham to see if their products fit your needs.  You should also involve your partner in the discussion as they may have their preferred product that they are most familiar with.

    I agree with Ben.
FYI Based on Microsoft licensing, if you were to program something outside of NAV, those users still need to have NAV users.  It does not matter that they are not using NAV directly.
