Modern Client - Multiple Windows

    Hi All

Just trying out the modern client with 2020. Two things I don;t seem to be able to do, which are show stoppers

    1. Open multiple windows (can;t seem to even run two instances of App)
    2. Use URL's (used a lot instead of saved views we had in RTC)

Am I missing something, or is it not ready for prime time?

    Thanks

    Mark,

I have been able to open more than one instance of the app using the same login, for example opening different companies, using Chrome and multiple browser tabs. To run multiple instances with different logins, I use incongnito mode in Chrome or InPrivate mode in Edge. I have had several instances open at once this way.

To work with more than one window within the same instance, if you open a list page using Tell me.. or Explorer, you will see an icon in the top right of the page that will allow you to open the page in the new window. For some reason when you open the same page using the navigation menu, when the page opens replacing the Role Center, you don't have this option.

Opened in new page from Tell me.. or through the Explorer.
    From Tell me..
From the navigation menu replacing the role center.
    From Role Center

As for saving URL, I have been able to bookmark list pages in my browser (using chrome) filtered and otherwise, but have not tried to bookmark anything else. I can then use the saved link to open a page. I have not used this feature frequently however.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Cynthia

I can do it in a browser no problems. It's the Modern Client (Windows App) that doesn't appear to do it

    Mark,

I assumed you meant the browser based modern client. I forget that MS refers to Business Central in not just the browser but also the Windows 10 desktop app, or mobile apps on Android and iOS as "modern clients."
