NAV 2015 - Planning worksheet not recognizing inventory at one of the locations setup for the item

    Hello -

    We are using NAV 2015 and having an issue with an item that has inventory at multiple locations when running the planning worksheet.

    When the suggestions are being generated it is not recognizing that inventory  and is asking me to produce when I don't need to.

    I do have an SKU setup for the location but I'm assuming I have some settings incorrect.

    If anyone has suggestions on what I should check that would be great.

    Thanks

    There are two places to check, the Item Card and the Stockkeeping Unit Card. It sounds like this item and/or SKU may be setup incorrectly. If you are using Stockkeeping Units, this where you need to start checking, if not go to the Item. Below is a list of things to check.
    • Replenishment --> Manufacturing Policy
    • Planning --> Reordering Policy & Include Inventory

    Compare the "incorrect" item with one of your working items.

    Since it is giving you a suggestion it means it is trying to meet the Demand in the system.  Demand may be a Reorder Point or Safety Stock Quantity if you are using Fixed Reorder, Max Inventory or Lot-for-Lot policies, check those fields.  If you are using Lot-for-Lot or Order policies, in the Planning Worksheet click on the Order Tracking button at the top, this will show you the Demand that is causing the suggestion.

    If you are using Multiple Locations, be sure you have SKU cards for all Items that will be in that Location.  The Planning Worksheet works best when you use SKUs in a Multi-Location environment.
