No FLOW in On Premises Business Central

My biggest disappointment at Summit was finding out that Microsoft is not supporting on premise Business Central as promised. The only way to integrate FLOW is to move into the cloud. We have valid business reasons to be on premise. It seems unfair that Microsoft is building FLOW connectors to all sorts of products except Business Central.

    Good Morning Gregory,

Can I get confirmation of who said there would be no support of on-prem BC, and in what context this was said?   Did you mean no support of Flow for on-prem, or no support of BC itself?

Not that I would put it past Microsoft to stop supporting on-prem at their earliest opportunity, but if they did that would be rather huge. A clarification would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    -Devora

We attended a FLOW workshop session held by Innovia. They informed us that they had to change their session at warp speed because Microsoft dropped support for on premise. We were able to complete the workshop using cloud BC. We are not happy because we want to stay on premise. It seems like Microsoft is going pull under handed tricks to force us into the cloud.

    Thanks, Gregory,

If I'm hearing you right, the concern here is not lack of support for BC itself on-premise, but for Flow and other such integrated tools?

I know there are already a few things the cloud version offers that on-prem will not.  There's no doubt in my mind that MS will try to herd us all into the cloud asap. It's a lot to ask of a company to put their entire ERP into the cloud when security is an ever-growing risk. Some simply do not have that option at all due to the nature of their business. It's also going to be difficult for partners to sell on-prem if consumers do not have faith that it will be around more than a couple years.

    Regards,

    -Devora

    Hi
I confirm Gregory' concern about Flow not being supported on premise...I was on that session and for me was a BIG surprise, also I was under the impression that you still need to design/develop other "flow templates" if they are not available. That requires advance programming in 2018 version with workflows and now moving to Flow is not fully integrated.
    Best Regards
