Is anyone who is live on BC really happy with their partner's developers?

You mean that extensions are causing you problems to the point you call them catastrophic failures?
Do you have an example of one case?
Are they testing what they do?

What version of BC? If BC12,13,14 windows or web client (15 is only web client)?  On Prem or SAAS?  As Samuel  suggests any specific info you could give would be helpful.

AL developers are the same developers that work on the previous versions as well (C/AL).  Don't blame them (though I am sure there are specific cases that go against this).  Though it is amazing how far AL has come in the past 2 years it is still relatively new and will have a lot of bugs. It's an argument for why camping out on BC14 (last version to support AL and C/AL) might not be such a bad idea.

Please tell me this is not true.

    >>AL developers are the same developers that work on the previous versions as well (C/AL).<<

I would think that no one building a career is learning any C/AL skills anymore (for obvious reasons) but a career path based in AL could grow, and therefore more coders with fresh skill sets would be available?  I realize that in order to get into AL 100%, coders fluent in C/AL are required. Yet once there I'd like to think we had greater field of candidates to work with should we ever decide to switch consultants or even hire our own coder.

I think I've seen a couple of posts from you on this subject, and I just have to ask - did you go live without a thorough testing phase? I 'm trying to understand how you are live with catastrophic failures, more from a perspective of someone who's on NAV2013 and looking down an eventual upgrade to BC. I'm assuming it was tested and now things are going sideways?

I replied to your question from the email summary and missed the additional information you provided. Thanks for the reply, and I understand the difficulty of debugging an intermittent issue. It does seem unacceptable to be going weeks without a resolution.
