Export info out of NAV2015 into an existing spreadsheet

    Hi everyone-

Let me explain what I am trying to do. I have an existing spreadsheet that is a product catalog. Basically the spreadsheet has the following fields from the item card:

Part Number, Description, and Unit Price

The spreadsheet has all of that, plus a picture of the product. We had a price change and I want to import the data into the spreadsheet as either a change for an existing part number or if the part number is not in the spreadsheet to add it a new line with the part number, description and unit price.

Does anyone has any idea how to go about this? Is this something that can be done in Jet Report. Which we have, but I don't know how to use it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be grateful. Thank you in advance.

Randy, I am not sure about images, but Jet Reports can be used to report on any of your BC/NAV data (in Excel).  RapidStart can also be used to export data like your item numbers, descriptions, and prices, but you cannot design a format for the data to be exported to.  It will only be exported into a simple Excel table.

    [EDIT]:
You could probably add the images as a static element in a Jet Report and let Jet Reports refresh to obtain current items and prices.

There is the NAV 2015 Excel Addin that should let you have a "refreshable" spreadsheet.

You're probably best off to have 2 workbooks.  1 has your data from excel. 2 has your product data with pictures etc...  Then you join the two spreadsheets (see if MS Power Query will do this - native to Excel - easy to use).

You might also be able to have a sheet in your master workbook.

Finally ... ODATA would work.  I have a blog on using ODATA ... https://www.sabrelimited.com/blogs/odata-with-business-central/

The blog is for Business Central but the same technique should work in NAV 2015 if memory serves me right.  I'm pretty sure the ODATA web services were in that version.
