Item Templates Not Appearing in BC2020

    Hi All

We're configuring a new BC2020 instance and import all of our items and item templates from BC130. We also created some new templates from items. All the templates are enabled.

When I create a new item, there is no prompt to choose a template. I can apply a template after item creation, but the problem is the no series is part of the item template and it won't update the item no if a template is applied

I wondering if I missed a setting somewhere that makes new items use templates

    Anyone got any thoughts?

    Mark

I'm not sure that I understand...are you trying to assign the item number from the template?

You can use a number series to create the item numbers and then apply the template.

    Thanks Lewis

We figured it out. There was no number series setup in Inventory Setup. We did this deliberately (but mistakenly), as we were assigning no series to all item templates and if a template wasn't use, user would enter their own number based on business rules
