  • 1.  Shared Routing Setups

    Posted Dec 17, 2019 01:06 PM

We are currently on NAV 2013 R2 and we are looking to improve our MFG data. We have an scenario where the routing setup for one job/prod ord will fulfill setup for subsequent jobs. The subsequent jobs than receive positive variances since we did not have to execute the setup step.

I am trying to identify how can we link the the setup of the first job to the additional jobs? Or how do make the setup dynamic so it is not expected on the subsequent jobs and reported as a variance?

Part of the problem is we use a std costing method, but the jobs themselves can deviate from the standard routing as the MFG team works to increase efficiency on the fly, or just meet day to day demand and remain flexible. I know we can have additional routings that exclude the setup, but that causes Std Cost issues.

The shop also plans these jobs manually since these types of inconsistencies prevent us from using the scheduling tool effectively.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
