    All,

We are a Coffee Manufacturer currently on Nav 2015.   We are weighing our options and considering an ERP upgrade, one of which is BC.

Has anyone recently upgrade to BC and if yes,
    1.  How did your upgrade go?
    2.  What version did you upgrade from?
    3.   Who was your partner?
    4.   What was the experience like - were there any "gotcha's"?
    5.   Do you use scanners or tablets and if so, what is the response time connecting to the cloud and scanning barcodes?

    Catherine,

Looking at most of the members that come to the meeting most are on 2018 and below.  I think when Pete took Dales position at Barkley Ag he was talking to Beck and I think he might be going to BC.  I am not totally sure though.

Correct, I am the daredevil. Something to note. We are going Business Central (14) on-premise. So theoretically, 2019 NAV. However, I am going to try push web client only. Since our business is separated across multiple states.

    We are in process.

    1.  How did your upgrade go? Let you know January 1. So far, so good. We are re-implementing and taking some time to evaluate our customizations. I did choose some easier companies for our first foray in BC. So in Phase 1.  I am moving a home building company (3 separate physical companies (Jobs, FA, AP, AR, pretty much core BC).  We are going to be implementing Data-haven for document management (to include Workflows for Invoice Approval). In addition, we  setting up another BC Company with approx 30 something physical companies combined (FA, AR, AP) again pretty much core. Slight customization to ensure balancing across company transactions.
Phase 2 is Seed and Grain and Farming This will build on Phase 1 and implement Weigh Scale Integration, Logistics, Inventory, WMS (Handheld Scanners) and Grower Accounting.
Phase 3 is our Fresh produce company. It is the most complex and  will build on the work performed in previous phases.
    1.  What version did you upgrade from? 2009
    2.   Who was your partner? Beck Consulting
    3.   What was the experience like - were there any "gotcha's"? Will be able to document these shortly. I do have a very tight timetable.  I have 45 companies to move in BC. They will exist in 5 different BC Companies. We are using dimensions for the separation. As mentioned they will roll-out in 3 different Phases.
    4.   Do you use scanners or tablets and if so, what is the response time connecting to the cloud and scanning barcodes? I will not be tackling this in Phase 1. However, it will come in play in my Phase 2 scheduled for April 2020, and even more so with WMS in my last company in Phase 3 scheduled for Jan. 2021.

Thanks so much Peter for the reply.    We have companies in Latin America (coffee farms and roasting facility) that are still on Nav 5.0.
Just in the beginning stages of defining requirements and how we get Latin America upgraded before we upgrade our Lincoln facility from 2015 to BC.   We too will probably be going with BC on Prem.

Best of Luck and would love to hear how things go along the way.
