I've been through NAV for many years as an accountant, functional analyst, and support. I am still learning NAV but now interested in learning development environment. I am not pursuing a NAV developer though..I believe that it will definitely enhance my overall NAV knowledge. Can anyone suggest me a good development book (other than NAV2013 training material)? Due to limited license, I cannot practice Codeunit or C/AL code (I am not on BC) but will be interested in other areas (E.g. table, page, or report designer).

    Many thanks,

I would think that Programming Microsoft Dynamics NAV by Mark Brummel, David A. Studebaker, and Christopher D. Studebaker is a good one to start with. It covers a lot of material and can also be used as a reference book after you get the basics down.

I've been going through Programming Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2013 By @David Studebaker and Christopher Studebaker that's published by Packt Publishing. It's been very helpful.

In addition, last year ForNav (I think) hosted some great webinars titled C\side Development 101 that helped me get started (which I'd still consider myself just started so I'm also always looking for more details). You can find the recordings @Mark Brummel youtube page. Here's the first one:

Thanks so much for inputs. Indeed, I watched the recording a few months back and found it was very informative.

if you have access to business central you don't need a license to create AL (essentially the same language as CAL)
