    Hi All,

I utilize the planning worksheet to create PO's.  I've come across two specific issues:

    1.  When carrying out actions through the planning worksheet, I noticed that it will clump multiple shipment dates on the same PO when the items are tied to the same vendor.  I would understand this if it was issuing a blanket PO, but not a regular PO.  Is there a standard setup for the planning worksheet to have this ability to create separate PO's with the different shipment dates when carrying out multiple actions?  The workaround is to manually filter each separate date one by one in planning worksheet, then carrying out the actions date by date and vendor by vendor.

    2.  We will issue a PO and then, down the road, need to add new items to that same existing PO.  I was hoping the Planning Worksheet would be able to recognize an existing PO that falls under the same vendor, date, and location.  It currently creates a brand new PO with the same vendor, date, and location.  Then, we have two PO's for the same vendor and same ship date.  I would prefer to issue PO's to our vendor as one PO and not multiple PO's on the same date.  The workaround is to manually add line by line to an  existing PO.

As I've stated, I've found the workarounds... but they're slightly cumbersome given the amount of actions needed.  Trying to work smarter, not harder.  I'd appreciate any feedback.  Thanks.

You have correctly identified how base functionality works. To get the behavior that you are looking for you would need to modify the Carry Out Action Msg. functionality to generate separate POs with different Shipment Dates and append to existing POs for additional items.

    Bradley,

Andrew is correct on you defining the base functionality within the system.  I would add on #1, we suggest using the Order Date as the filter field, and add a range.  So perhaps today plus two days, or ..two days from now.  This will help break the orders into multiple POs, as the Order Date is backward calculated from the Shipment Date and Lead Time.  So products with different shipment dates should have different Order Dates in the suggestion.  Also, by filtering on Order Date you are taking the lead time into consideration, where if you filter just on Shipment Date you could cause late receipts.
