We recently implemented Beck's BCMobile and started using Bins. We want to track how long it take for an item to move from the Receive Bin (yellow) to the QC Bin (Green) to Putaway (anything but yellow/green). The problem is, there is no identifier saying this move is part of this batch. We are close to coming up with a pseudo report that works pretty well going from yellow to green, but because transactions can happen from other bins at any time, there's no way to connect Green to putaway.

Has anyone encountered this or have suggestions. We've been cautioned against using lot tracking, which I don't know if that would help anyway. We've played with the idea of using license plates, but from what I can tell, license plates in Nav is used more for the production side of things and there isn't a way for BCmobile to scan the license plate.

Your questions should be directed towards the folks at Beck as this seems like a specific add-on for their product.

In regards to license plating, it's not specific to manufacturers. In fact, license plating is more common in distribution type implementations where they need an easy way to move a pallet of goods within the warehouse.

We also find it very hard to tie the warehouse entries to the item ledger entries.  We have looked into creating a report that can track both data sets, but have not yet done so.  On items where we are concerned, our receiving team will attach a label to a pallet with the receipt date & quantity which helps us to FIFO the stock.
