  • 1.  Permission needed to save view as for advanced filters

    We are on NAV2018 and I have a new user. We are trying to save shortcuts to her home page when she sets an advanced filter. Typically we do this by saying "Save View as" and naming it and saving to the HOME page. However , on her Advanced filter she only has Save view, not Save view as- is this a permission thing and if so, can you tell me what permission I need to add for her to have this capability. Thanks

    Something to look at:  Personalizations may not be enabled for your role.  If disabled, you can make changes to the filter, but can't save them.  Also, make sure that the page is a "list"-type page and not a "worksheet"-type page.  Hope that this helps.

    Thank you David for your suggestions. I checked the user personalization for the user and they have a role listed- is there another place besides user personalization where you enable or disable the role itself? On the User Personalization list, I did not see an enable or disable feature, only the listing of a Role assigned to each user.

    Search for "Profiles" and find the profile that the user is using.  Click edit to open the profile settings.  There should be a box labeled "Disable Personalization".  Make sure that this is off.  If it is on, that may be the problem.

    Thank you David. I see it now. It is not checked. The weird thing is, today while she was using the system on the lot information list screen, the exp date column suddenly was not visible, nor could it be selected from the show columns list (it did not show) even though it was there earlier in the day. I had her log out and log back in two times and on the second time the exp date column reappeared and suddenly so did her "save View As" access. Makes me nervous when the system changes right before your eyes!
